WELCOME TO Willie's Tropical Tattoo

The next Tropical Tattoo Chopper Time Old School Chopper Show will be held on March 7th, 2024 during Bikeweek 2024.

When discussing tattoos, Tropical Tattoo has become more than another tattoo shop, it's become a tradition. After more than two decades in the same location, Tropical has become one of the most established businesses in the greater Daytona Beach area.

Six days a week, the artists at Tropical Tattoo have been giving Daytona residents, tourists, and celebrities alike the same level of expertise and professionalism that has formed the backbone of the world famous Tropical Tattoo. Always with an eye for how to best represent your ideas, the artists are experts in all styles, custom drawings, paintings, cover ups, and even portraits.

Members of both the Florida Professional Tattoo Artist Guild, and the Alliance of Professional Tattoo Artists, and members of the Ormond Beach and Holly Hill Chamber of Commerce, Willie's staff upholds health and safety codes far beyond state law requirements. Tropical Tattoo is also licensed by the state of Florida and Volusia County.

Before putting yourself in the hands of beginners, scratchers, kitchen artists, or cheap amateur tattooists, stop by Tropical Tattoo and take a look around the shop and talk to any of the artists.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO . . .

Interior of Willie's Tropical Tattoo

Success in the tattoo business is quite an accomplishment, longevity even rarer.  Willie, at Tropical Tattoos has both under his belt. In business at the same locations since 1990, he understands that bikes and tattoos just go together.

Willie has seen the tattoo industry go from being subculture to mainstream over the years. When Willie became interested in having tattoos and developing it as a way of life, it was the fringe of society that belonged to that culture. Getting a tat was a statement. He still uses that statement on his shirts: I’m Not Your Role Model.

Just as the biker culture has been enveloped into mainstream life, so has the art of tattoos. Women and men from all walks of life, for all purposes, now come into tattoo parlours for their permanent inking.

Willie warns all considering body art to not take getting tatted lightly. Things to consider:

  1. If you are sunburned, wait until you heal before getting a tattoo. The colours will not hold well on sunburned skin.

  2. Alcohol impairs judgment and can cause increased bleeding. Do not drink before having a tattoo.

  3. Research the establishment and view the artist portfolio.

  4. Do not get a tattoo on a dare.

  5. This is permanent. If you have any doubts about getting a tattoo, you are not ready.

Willie’s Tropical Tattoos is a member of the Alliance of Professional Tattooists and has been featured in magazines in Germany, France, Italy, Japan along with multiple articles in the U.S.

Each year you can attend the “Willie’s Ole’ School Chopper Show”, an event started several years back as the place custom builders, such as Adam Chandler from Chandler Originals and Jeff and Donnie from Sucker Punch Sally’s, met to ride for an afternoon. It has grown to over 130 bikes and is an event by itself.

Willie’s Tropical Tattoo is a part of the history of biking in Daytona and should be a destination during your visit.

Twice each year, Willie's Tropical Tattoo puts on the best "Old Time Chopper Show" . We have a great time and love to see everyone who attends. Many people take part in our shows and we want to thank everyone who come out and support our events.

Our events are the first event for Bike Week and Biketoberfest.  The events are a major happening in the Daytona area and huge crowds show up to participate in the show and support Willie, Tropical Tattoo, Veterans, and the Arni Foundation. The shows run from 11 AM - 4 PM with beer, girls, bands, trophy's and awards. There is a lot of tremendous artwork to be seen on the bikes and the attendees.

Photo's from the events can be seen at our Chopper Time Gallery site which you can find HERE.  For updated information on events and the recent tat's, be sure and connect with us on our FaceBook page and the artists various social media locations.
